We are seeking submissions from teen performance artists in Orange County, FL, on how the arts have changed their lives for the better. We understand that for many, music, theatre, dance, or other creative arts outlets is a Life Line that brings with it a supportive community that young people may not have often experienced in other areas of their lives. Brings us courage and confidence, friends and accomplishments, or the knowledge that we can be something better. Whatever your story is for why you're thankful for performance art, we want to hear it, and to amplify it. Selected submissions will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of a live audience in the form of a new play that they will create based on their own stories. We will bring the stage to a venue near you. Submission rules are below.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Please submit a 3-5min max audio or video clip of your talent along with a brief written or oral explanation of how your art has been your lifeline and inspired your heart to keep pumping. There are no wrong stories. Song, dance, spoken word poetry, short story, rap, improvised monologue, magic tricks, or even visual arts may be considered. Please email submissions with the subject line "Life Lines" or complete a video submission through Instagram by tagging @writetobescene and including the hash tag #lifelines. As a final step, please confirm your intent to participate in this new play project by RSVPing on our eventbrite page at
